Machine-payment speed and a counterparty answer.

KYA, “Know Your Agent”, for the x402 era: proof of an operator's legal capacity without creating a store of personal data.

The bind

A channel where nobody knows who anybody is cannot meet identification obligations. That has kept regulated companies out of machine payments.

Identity records for every counterparty bring an audit and data-protection burden that grows with every transaction. What you need is narrower: proof that a verified operator stands behind an endpoint, not its documents.

What changes

  • Accountability by design: the verdict proves the issuer's checks passed and a guarantee is on deposit. Personal data never enters the flow.
  • Identity verified in line with the European digital-identity framework (eIDAS) and OpenID4VP presentation flows.
  • An audit story made of signatures and published schedules.

The trust perimeter

Attested vendors invite their agents. Every 402 you send can carry it: an accountable operator stands behind this endpoint, verified for free at any time, and agents can join the perimeter too once agent attestation opens with v1. Reading who is inside is free to everyone.
